height
So today, the hexes got height.
It looks "ok" - not great, but then, we are scaling quite a bit, and I'm not using a palette I'm just using random colors.
Ok, the dirt isn't random, and I should come up with a better 'grass' or 'edge' setup, but… to be honest this is a bit "not really a thing we should be worrying about since there are limitations on things like color for some machines I'm gonna target."
And yes, I'm not QUITE sure how I'll handle height there either, but it is a thing to be done. Because "buildings" and "obstacles" will also be in the map, and they may take up more than 1 hex (buildings definately will.)
Also there's the whole "rotate the map and see another side" thing, which… yes, this is all related to "height" in some manner.
So this was a sort of a big thing - especially since the way it looked with "flat top" wasn't looking proper, and this… "does?"
It looks more proper at least. You don't have some higher things cutting into the hex behind it, which … can be jarring.
(depending on color, and, well, that COULD be a problem. Or not, but I chose to do it this way for now.)
Do need to write the x,y to s,q,r thing (I think it's s,q,r - not 100% sure, will look at reference … tommorrow?)
tommorrow and thursday will be difficult days at work (not that today wasn't) so I'll just… see how much I can do.
But got some stuff done today anyway.
